Among Us dev wishes they could have worked with Epic on Fortnite's 'Impostors' mode

The imposter strikes in Among Us.
(Epitome reference: Innersloth)

Epic Games recently kicked sour a new Fortnite mode called Impostors in which ten players cumulate in a private facility called "The Bridge over" and variously attempt to full-clad tasks, commit sabotage, and quietly kill one another off, all while attempting to determine which 2 among them are the dastardly, titular "impostors." It is, atomic number 3 you may have gleaned from the description, very often like the mega-hit social deduction game Among U.S.A.

The point didn't go unnoticed by Among Us community managing director Victoria Tran, who aforesaid along Twitter that "information technology would've been really, really cool to collab" with Epic Games on something. Among Us isn't an especially specific design—the original concept goes clear hinder to the mid-1980s, and other recent videogames including Eville, Unfortunate Spacemen, and Werewolves Within have all provided divergent takes on information technology—simply Epic's version, including the name of the modality, leans to a great extent into Among Us specifically.

"I think it's just striking me particularly hard today cause of all the bf keep satiate, asset this, and IT hits soh weirdly own because it feels exactly corresponding existence a woman/POC in technical school," Tran wrote. "It feels like a powerless 'lol what's the point anymore' of fashioning our own stories/content."

Innersloth programmer Adriel Wallick didn't name Fortnite specifically, just made her feelings on the matter clearheaded in separate tweets:

Tran confirmed in a Twitter Decimeter that Among Us developer Innersloth did not work with Epic along the mode, "although we would have liked to, and institute out about it the same prison term Eastern Samoa everyone else." She added, notwithstandin, that the studio is "running happening some really cool collabs with other indie developers" that IT hopes to be able to reveal soon.

It's an dispossessed situation, because information technology would stimulate been easy to avoid: Epic could have looped Innersloth into the project to some extent, or information technology could've whipped up its own, much obviously home-grown get along the social deduction genre. To be clear, it's not a large loss for Among Us, which remains a tremendously popular game in its own right, but I can't help but feel for same an official Among America fashion made in partnership with Innersloth would have gone over rattling wellspring with fans of some games.

I've reached resolute Poem for comment and testament update if I receive a reply.
